I turned my hobby of building guitars into a small business producing custom acoustics. I takes a month to build a guitar, so the last thing I want are strings that limit the instrument’s potential. I avoided coated strings, even if they were offered to me free. At the suggestion of a local retailer (and friend) I reluctantly tried Cleartone strings. I was so impressed, Cleartone strings now come standard on all my guitars (and I gladly pay for them). The sound is full an vibrant, and the feel makes for easy playability.
Producing a product with your name on it changes your perspective. Maximizing profit becomes secondary to maximizing quality. I use the best strings I can find – period!
Because the guitars have my heart and soul in them, Cleartone strings are on them.
Hi,
Firstly, thank you for making the strings you do; I was given a set of your Custom Light Electric strings by a friend three months ago and I’ve only changed them in the last few days. Normally (due to a combination of unusually acidic sweat, a hefty playing schedule and an extremely aggressive picking style), I get through about three sets of strings a month, so Cleartones have been something of a revelation to me, to say the least!
By my reckoning, that set of strings was used for approximately – 3 sessions, 18 live gigs, 30 band rehearsals and around 45 guitar lessons. Be assured, I’m turning my students onto Cleartone strings; if the financial incentive (I mostly teach kids and teenagers) by way of less replacement sets isn’t enough, then the longevity and clarity of tone should certainly seal the deal, IMHO.
As and when (more like if and when in the current msuical climate, realistically!) I have a profile worthy of being considered for endorsement, I will only be applying to one company for my string needs. You’ve got a convert, here. :-) Regards,
Johnny Gibbons

Emerson Custom Guitars is a small builder of American made, boutique quality electric guitars and basses. We only use the best materials and products on our guitars. When I look for vendors/suppliers for my guitars, there are two things that stick out to me the most; product quality/ innovation and customer service. I had the opportunity to work with any string company I wanted, but I chose Cleartone Strings because of their excellent customer service( they treated me like family and I could tell it was genuine) and because of their strings are unmatched in tone, feel and longevity. When I ship out a custom guitar or bass I take pride in the fact that when the customer receives the instrument it will play and sound just like it did when it left the shop. Thanks to the wonderful people of Cleartone and Everly Music for a great product and treating me like family.
I just wanted to contact you and say that, Cleartone strings are the best strings I’ve ever played. I myself sell guitar parts, I work at a place that rhymes with Sitar Letter. Anywho, I sell strings everyday. I never had really had anyone buy cleartones or tell me about them so I always pitched the D’Addario EXPs since those are the ones I had been using. That is until my Sales Manager came along and told me to put Cleartones on. I put Light Gauge Acoustic’s on my $79 Silvertone Acoustic gutiar…. and.. well.. wow. The strings make the gutiar sound better then any Yamaha or Epiphone sounds brand new. Regardless this is a Silvertone ,the strings aren’t going to turn it into a Martin, but MY GOD!@#%@#.. I love the strings guys. Keep up the great work, you brought me over with one pack.
I think you guys have given me something else to worry about, now Im not sure when to change my strings they sound so good all of the time! Seriously the best strings Ive ever had the privilege of playing in over 41 years of playing guitar. Keep it up!
I am a music pastor at our church and play 3 times a week plus practices for each, plus I play a minimum of an hour a day. In February, i went on a missions trip to Ireland, and decided i should string my guitar before leaving. Yesterday (9/8) I finally realized I should probably change my strings, even though they still sounded amazing, held a perfect tune, and hadn’t broken.
Needless to say, i’m a permanent user of these things!
